I Believe

If I was to write my own creed, it would go something like this: 

I believe in God, the infinite potential of humanity, the infinite interconnectedness of the universe and the infinite circumstances of existence.

I believe that mind and body are one and the same thing. I do not believe in the triumvirate of mind, body and spirit, or Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

I find salvation and eternity on this planet through the qualities I endeavour to nurture and realize in my offspring. When I die I know they will live on and have their own offspring, and so on, for eternity.

I believe that theoretically everything has an infinite number of causes, but for practical everyday purposes I resort to a handful of leading ones.

God is supernatural because to understand infinity requires a ‘supernatural’ state of mind, rather than an everyday one. In this respect, the supernatural being is yourself, thinking and acting in a manner that attempts to embrace infinite interconnectedness, potential and circumstances.

Jesus is the son of God: He is the consequence (son) of infinite circumstances (God), like all of us, however, unlike most, he was able to understand this and articulate it to others to such an extent and at such a crucial time in history that his teachings led to the creation of one of the major religions.

Christian prayer is the precursor to thinking that led, via the studious monasteries of the Middle Ages, to the western science of the Renaissance and beyond.

Nirvana is not just a higher state of consciousness but a higher state of functionality, which includes not only consciousness but also physiological ability.

It reads a little awkwardly, but since I am not likely to recite it much at all or preach it to anybody, then that doesn't matter.
